SUMMARY:Special Event: The Color Purple
DESCRIPTION:Details: \nThe Color Purple is a stirring and soulful musical that tells the story of Celie\, a young woman who endures years of abuse and hardship at the hands of the men in her life. Along the way\, Celie forms close bonds with other women\, including the vibrant and independent Shug Avery and the strong and fierce Sofia. Through the power of sisterhood and self-discovery\, Celie finds her voice and breaks free from the chains of oppression. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker and the hit 1985 movie\, The Color Purple has an unforgettable score mixed with gospel\, blues\, and jazz. The Color Purple is a moving and inspiring story of hope and a celebration of life and the human spirit. \nThis performance will be taking place in the James K. Polk Theatre at TPAC.  Our group has been granted student rates for this performance.  Tickets will be located in the mid Orchestra area.  This student group pricing discount will save you money versus purchasing individually through the box office. This production is scheduled to begin at 2 pm. \nTickets must be picked up from Will Call/Box Office with a photo I.D. no later than 30 minutes before the show starts. This is a special event which means we do not meet as a group. However\, our group seats will be located in close proximity to one another. Each family that purchases tickets will indeed have seats next to each other. If there are multiple families going together it is important that you notify Jennifer that you want tickets next to each other. \nPlease note: Do your own research before determining if this show is suitable for your kids\, each family is different. \nRSVP and payment for guaranteed seats are due by 5 pm on February 6\, 2024\, unless they sell out sooner. \nTickets may be able to be secured after the due date only if seats are still available. Contact Jennifer after the due date so she can check directly with the venue. This trip requires a minimum in order to proceed. \nLocation: \nTennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) \nRules & Regulations: \nEach individual attending this trip/event must have a ticket purchased directly from Nashville Homeschool Calendar by the ticket purchase deadline.
